Writer culture is multiple people telling you that your writing is great and you STILL believe it’s shit

this actually stems from a larger systematic shift from placing emphasis on humanities to STEM and the effects are seen in a variety of ways like this, where writing is thought to not be something worth doing/worth your time and society devalues people who write/produce art, so we internalize that devaluation because writing is such a big part of identity of writers that we ourselves feel like we don’t matter/couldn’t possibly create something of value or that’s good because we ourselves have no value/are not good enough
