It struck me when Christopher Doyle said that in an interview. For the longest of time, I refuse to admit this truth, and in a sense, I still do. There is always a deliberate moonlighting and concealing of the desire to be loved as you are; a willed distance between one’s assumed identity and deepest yearnings.
