A while back a friend recommended a manga series Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon in the US) and thanks to some very kind people I received the first four volumes of the series as birthday gifts. I had meant to read it when recommended, but shortly after it got licensed and I had to wait till I could nab copies.
I love this manga!
It is a wonderful mix of classic fantasy adventure, comedy, and cooking show. The cast are great, and the art is wonderful - I often find myself wanting to eat the foods prepared in the pages…
I wanted to draw Marcille, the hapless Elf who is often horrified to think of eating monsters, though she is also often surprised at how good the finished meals are. In the back you can see Senshi, the Dwarf and guide/chef of the group. He is probably my favorite character, though Marcille is a close second…
