just like, can ya’ll even imagine the amount of love and affection these 3 would have for each other. Somehow even with Hikari with her angst and knife wielding self this would totally be the softest and most loving ship in this show and ya’ll know it. I think a lot of it has to do with how Hikari is actually just this really loving and caring person underneath all her posturing and trying to keep Karen safe and it’s obvious that she cares deeply about Karen and now that she and Mahiru have come to an understanding I could absolutely see her extending that affection to Mahiru with how she knows now that Mahiru also cares deeply for her and wants her to be happy.
Then you got Mahiru who is of course obvious with her giant crush on Karen but more so than that Mahiru isn’t just blindly in love with Karen, she also takes the time and effort to really care for Karen and pays attention to her and just generally wants her to be the happiest she can be, something that extends to Hikari after she comes to terms with her own issues and what Hikari actually means to her as a person. And then we got sweet, loving Karen who I’ve found myself more and more attached to as the show’s gone on. Honestly I think Karen’s straightforwardness is her best attribute, she’s the kind of person who if she thinks you look good today she’s gonna tell you, if you ask her for a hug she’ll give it with zero hesitation, just a bundle of happiness and love that one.
So you take all of those elements, you shove the 3 of them together, you force either Mahiru or Hikari to make the first move cause Karen is a dense fuck (and really let’s be honest, if anyone is making the first move it’s gonna be Hikari and it’ll probably be blunt and Mahiru will blush all the way to her ears and not move for like 10 minutes) and you got the recipe for the most adorable and loving relationship in that damn school.
Just Hikari one day: “you 2 should kiss me” Mahiru: “:O” Karen: “…..wat” Hikari: “you know, like, kiss, me, the both of you, I think I’m in love with you, both of you, and kissing would be pleasant I guess” she of course says this all with a straight face, I honestly cannot imagine Hikari being overly embarrassed, maybe a little, like a slight blush, stammers a little, but nothing crazy. Mahiru on the other hand overheated way back at the word kiss and has not recovered yet. Karen on the other third hand probably stood there and thought about it for a whole 5 seconds and was like “…..good idea, I kind of like you guys too….wanna cuddle?” Karen doesn’t like thinking too hard, she’s an emotion driven person, and again I think that’s one of her best qualities, she likes Hikari and Mahiru, Mahiru and Hikari like her, that’s all there is to it.
So somehow they get Mahiru to unfreeze after hearing the word kiss, drag her over to where Hikari is sitting in their room, and Mahiru may still be in shock that all her hopes and dreams are coming true but dammit she’s gay and she will not let this chance go to waste, and she and Karen give Hikari a little peck on both sides of her cheeks at the same time, adorable, ten out of ten, love it. This would then be the night that they all end up on the floor together like I talked about once before in that ask. They attempt to all sleep together in the same bed but for Mahiru’s sake, who got a face full of Hikari chest and almost passed out so they tried changing positions and then she got a face full of Karen chest and almost jumped out of bed herself, they then move to the floor. This could totally work though guys and that’s because they could bring down both comforters from Mahiru and Karen’s beds as well as their pillows and whatever blankets they have and then combine them with Hikaris’ futon and fucking success I tell you.
That blanket and pillow heaven combined with the heaven of cuddling with 2 cute girls (Hikari is totally in the middle for tonight cause she was the one who was actually able to start this and therefore she gets that privilege tonight but they definitely switch it up all the time) makes for the actual best sleep in the world and they go to class in the morning looking like they just had 12 hours of perfect sleep and everyone is immediately suspicious of how much the 3 of them are staring at each other and casually touching each other and smiling like today is the best day of their lives.
After that you know they talk about seriously dating and shit and I should probably stop here cause this is really long but I can go on way longer if ya’ll want cause this shit is my jam and I’m having a great time.
