I honestly hope one day I can draw fight scenes like Mashima. Don’t get me wrong, the substance of his fights are pretty laughable with how quick they end. But the ACTUAL art behind it is forever one of my favorites. You don’t just get a character coming in for an attack from behind and looking cool. You get speed, you get weight, you get a implied background, you get it ALL. I mean Kagura didn’t just appear out of no where. No, looking at this panel you gather that this girl is CRUISING in a dead sprint of a charge towards Erza.
